Search Result ≠ Qualified Record

A search result is only a possible answer. A qualified record is an answer that has survived business criteria, source checks and contextual judgement.

Finding is not qualification

Modern tools can make discovery fast. The difficult part is deciding whether the result genuinely fits the requirement. A company can match the right keyword and still be wrong for the actual business need.

Search gives you candidates. Qualification gives you decisions.

The qualification layer

I normally think about qualification through a few questions: Does it match the intended business profile? Is the information current? Is the source strong enough? Is the record usable for the next action?

Why this matters

Research quality improves when the workflow is designed around decisions instead of field completion. That is where research starts becoming intelligence.
